San Francisco and the Schwab Familly

------------FRANCAIS --------------

------------ENGLISH --------------

Peter, Natalie’s father comes pick me up a t the bus station to his familly. The Schwabs give me a warm welcome and Peter offers me to spend the week end with him in his vineyard, north San Francisco. I obviously accept without any hesitation.

The next morning we are on our way to Healdsburg, a tiny city at 75 miles away from S.F. We arrive in the middle of vines Art and Craft style house which used to belong to Peter’s folks. Absolutely no noise around except the one of the wind in the tree leaves. We come say Hi to the neighbors. Arriving in fornt of their place, my camera in my hand, I shoot the frontage of the house with a floating American flag. Here a furious man get out of the house and bark me who am I to take his house in picture. He finally calm himself after we explain who are we and gives us a beer. His name is Garry and is sorry if he has been a little be rude. He invite me to seat on his deck and tells me that the flag I shot survived to every single storms and end up by saying he is “proud to be a American” patting on the head of his puppy with this weird looking (the dog not Gary…hum… maybe both). Anyway, few Budweiser later Peter shows me his vineyard and the river he used to spend his summers with his brother when he was a kid and then later with his family. We seat on the stairs outside of the house watching the sunset over the vines with a glass of wine. The next morning I take a bicycle in order to visit around. I come in the protestant church of Healdsburg at mass time. I eat and drink the body and blood’s Christ, I hug my closet neighbors who are repeating me “God is good”. The pastor, very nice gives me a warm welcome and also a coupon for a frozen yogurt in the store next door. A little bit bored I leave the church before the end of the mass, take my bicycle and paddle without stopping during 20 miles until the lake Sonoma. A little bit tired and also lazy I ask here a family to give me a ride to Healdsburg. Back to the “Little House on the Prairie “, wine tasting a close vine, collecting some apples, house cleaning with Peter, diner in front of sunset and back to S.F.
